Wendy Shiner , President and Director of Operations, is a free-lance Technical Writer.  She holds an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design/Advertising from Boston University with additional undergraduate business credits from Johns Hopkins University and graduate credits from Loyola College and Florida Institute of Technology. Ms. Shiner has managed businesses ranging from retail books to construction. Her non-profit experience includes the founding of Books for Vets Inc. in Aug of 2008, developing and maintaining a close relationship with the Orlando VA Medical Center volunteer group to ensure a steady stream of book donations and volunteer work at the Seminole County Library/Friends of the Library Resale store.

Her responsibilities include managing donations and shipping, grant research and writing, directing and coordinating fund-raising events, marketing and public speaking and acting as the organizational public relations and liaison for all media outlets and business, government and faith-based groups. She is married to a veteran.



Greta Barncord, Director of Finance, is the organization’s accountant and tax adviser and has been in the field for over 40 years as a self employed tax accountant. Ms. Barncord holds an undergraduate degree in accounting, a Master's degree in federal taxation and is an enrolled agent to practice before the IRS. She is the Executive Officer for the National Society of Tax Professionals. Her husband is a veteran and served in Cuba, Spain and the US.



Jimmy Shiner, Director, a veteran, served in the Army 509th Airborne Division/Germany. His father, Maurice Shiner (deceased), served in the Korean War and retired as a Master Sergeant; his younger brother is a Viet Nam Veteran. Mr. Shiner's responsibilities include assisting with the annual golf tournament fund-raiser event and donation collection.



Audrey Hoyas, Director,
is on the Outreach Board at St. Stephan's Catholic Church as the Director of Community Life. She holds an undergraduate teaching degree from Westchester State College.  Ms. Hoyas’s father, sister and father-in-law (deceased) are all veterans. Her responsibilities include co-organizing and co-managing the annual golf tournament, book shipments and assisting with grant research and writing.
